Painted in oil on board, the composition has all the character we look for in traditional sporting art: an expressive hound, beautifully rendered game, soft rolling countryside and a muted natural palette.

The dog’s alert expression and rich chestnut coloring give the painting particular presence, while the gilt frame adds warmth and just enough formality. The work is unsigned, allowing the strength of the subject and decorative appeal of the painting itself to take center stage.

A quintessential English-country sporting piece for a library, study, keeping room, tack room or collected gallery wall.

CONDITION
Antique condition with age-appropriate wear to both the painting and frame, including areas of rubbing, patina and surface variation consistent with age.
