CONDITION Very good antique condition. Light age-appropriate toning and minor smudging along the outer margins only; these do not affect the image and would be concealed when framed. The engraving itself remains crisp, clear, and richly detailed. Printing from the reverse side is present (as expected for original book engravings) but does not show through to the front. SIZE Approximately 8 1/8" x 10 3/4". Note this item comes unframed. PROVENANCE Original 19th-century engraving removed from a rare antiquarian natural history volume printed in 1878. MAKER Unknown engraver, late Victorian period, after an original natural history illustration. MATERIAL Original engraved print on antique book paper.
