Antique Austrian Game Bird Porcelain Plates, Pair

A handsome pair of antique Austrian porcelain game bird plates, each featuring a different finely rendered bird vignette surrounded by a delicate green leafy border. One depicts a partridge or quail-type game bird, while the companion plate features a long-billed marsh bird, likely a snipe or woodcock. The softly painted landscapes, scalloped edges, and restrained botanical detailing give the pair a wonderfully collected European sporting-house feel.

Dating to approximately the late 19th to early 20th century, these plates are beautiful examples of Austrian decorative porcelain made during a period when game bird and sporting motifs were especially popular for both dining and display.
