Antique Cast Iron Footed Warming Stand / Display Riser

A substantial antique cast iron warming stand with an exceptionally sculptural profile and wonderful old-world presence. The heavy rectangular platform is shaped with softly serpentine edges and a raised perimeter, resting on four elaborate pierced legs with scrolling foliate detail.

The weight and construction are remarkable — this is an impressively solid piece of antique ironwork, originally intended as a raised stand or trivet for serving and hearth use. Today, we especially love it repurposed as an architectural display riser, adding height and importance to a favorite object without feeling overly decorative.

Its dark aged finish, worn surface and ornate cast detailing give it the kind of patina that only comes with time. A striking piece for an English country interior, library, dining room or collected equestrian home.

CONDITION
Good antique condition with considerable age-appropriate wear, surface scratches, finish loss and patination throughout. The wear is consistent with age and utilitarian use and adds to the character of the piece. Exceptionally heavy and substantial.
