A beautifully sculptural antique majolica dish by Griffen, Smith & Hill (GSH), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, dating to the late 19th century. This piece is formed in the shape of a begonia leaf, showcasing the richly detailed veining and organic movement that define classic Etruscan majolica. The glaze is especially striking, with layered tones of mossy green, golden yellow, earthy brown, and subtle blush undertones pooling within the natural contours of the leaf. The dimensional surface and luminous glaze create depth and visual interest from every angle.
This is a highly collectible example of American majolica, blending artistry, craftsmanship, and naturalistic design. It works equally well as a functional small serving piece or as a decorative object.
