A beautiful antique sterling silver clothes brush featuring an ornate repoussé floral and scrollwork design surrounding a smooth central cartouche. Particularly lovely, the cartouche remains unmonogrammed, allowing the decorative silverwork to take center stage.
Measuring approximately 5.5" long, this petite brush was traditionally used for gently removing lint and dust from fine woolens, jackets, hats, and other garments. The exceptionally soft natural bristles remain full and tactile, while the sterling silver top has developed the subtle patina and character expected of a well-preserved antique piece.
Dating to approximately the late Victorian to Edwardian era, circa 1890–1920, it is equally appealing today as a functional wardrobe accessory or as a decorative object layered into a dressing table, gentleman’s valet, equestrian tack room, or collection of antique sterling.
CONDITION
Very good antique condition with age-appropriate surface wear, patina, and minor marks to the sterling. Bristles remain remarkably soft and full. No monogram or engraving.
SIZE
Approximately 5.5"L × 1.5"W
MATERIAL
Sterling silver with natural bristles
STYLING SUGGESTIONS
Display alongside antique silver, leather accessories, riding gloves, brushes, or sporting books for a collected English-country look. It would also be lovely on a dressing table or gentleman’s valet as an elegant reminder of a more gracious era.
