Spectacularly rare and exceptionally beautiful, this complete English Copeland Spode hand-painted earthenware Imari tea service is presented in one of Spode’s most prized and recognizable Japan patterns, commonly referred to by collectors as the “Fence” pattern (Pattern No. 967).
The set includes a cabaret / déjeuner (vanity) tray, teapot, lidded sugar bowl, creamer, and two cups with accompanying saucers, forming a highly desirable and unusually complete service.
The cabaret tray retains its original handwritten parcels-post owner’s label dated 1879, a remarkable survival that provides rare period documentation and firmly anchors the set to the late Victorian era, making this example particularly special and exceedingly uncommon.
