A beautifully presented canine sporting print after the famed 19th century oil painting Hound Pointing by French artist Constant Troyon. The original work, painted in 1860, is held in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and remains one of Troyon’s most compelling dog subjects.

This print was taken from a book by noted canine art historian William Secord and is displayed under glass in an ornate gilt frame with wonderful decorative presence. Petite in scale but rich in character, it is ideal for a layered bookshelf, desk, bedside table, gallery wall, dog room, library, or English country vignette. A wonderful piece for the sporting dog collector, hound lover, or anyone drawn to classic canine art with an old-world sensibility.

WHY WE LOVE THIS
It has all the best layers: a famed 19th century animal painting, a scholarly canine art source, a richly detailed gilt frame, and a petite scale that makes it incredibly easy to style. The hound subject gives it that perfect English sporting-house feeling without being overly themed — elegant, collected, and full of character.
