Vintage German Porcelain Hunting Dog Cabinet Plate

A handsome vintage porcelain cabinet plate featuring a classic pointer posed in an open field. The central sporting scene is rendered in warm wheat, olive, brown & muted blue tones, framed by a softly graduated blue-green border.

The molded plate has a scalloped, gently fluted rim with four pierced openings and a fine gilt edge. The combination of the pointer motif, unusual pierced form & beautifully muted coloration gives it the collected character of an old sporting piece.
