Vintage Italian Marble & Cut Crystal Pedestal Centerpiece Compote, c.1960s

A spectacular mid-century statement piece combining brilliantly cut crystal, ornate Old World metalwork, and a substantial solid marble base. The elongated crystal bowl features a dramatic scalloped rim with repeating fan, starburst, and crosshatched cuts that catch the light beautifully. It rests above an elaborate floral-form gilt metal collar and richly detailed pedestal, all anchored by a weighty white marble plinth.

Stamped MADE IN ITALY, the piece is characteristic of the glamorous crystal-and-marble decorative accessories produced during the 1960s and early 1970s. Closely related examples are associated with Monarch Crystal, which paired European cut crystal with elaborate Italian marble and metal mounts.
