Vintage Mid-Century Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Landscape Gu-Form Chinoiserie Vase

A striking mid-century Chinese blue and white porcelain vase inspired by the traditional gu, or trumpet-form, vessel. The tall faceted body is hand decorated in cobalt blue with an atmospheric landscape of pine trees, distant mountains, water, and traditional architecture, framed by classical scroll and foliate borders. Its architectural silhouette—with a broad flared mouth, narrow central body, rounded lower section, and shaped foot—gives the piece considerably more presence than a traditional ginger jar. A beautiful example of 20th-century Chinese export porcelain with strong decorative appeal for both English country and collected interiors.
