DESCRIPTION
A wonderful antique roe deer antler mount from Austria, set on a carved Black Forest-style wooden plaque with oak leaf detailing, acorn accents, and a central shield cartouche. The pale skull cap shows beautiful age, natural toning, and character, while the slender roe antlers have rich darker striations and wonderfully sculptural form. The plaque is hand-marked “Schaftal 8.8.1970,” giving the piece a charming sense of place, date, and European sporting tradition.
