A richly detailed Aubusson-style hunting dog pillow cover with all the character of a classic English sporting interior. Worked in wool needlepoint, the pastoral scene depicts two hunting dogs resting together among a beautifully rendered landscape in warm tobacco, russet, cream, olive, and deep brown tones. An elaborate cream fringe and tassel trim frames the entire piece, giving it wonderful dimension and an especially substantial, collected look.
