A handsome original equestrian oil painting depicting the finely rendered head and neck of a chestnut horse against a softly graduated olive-green ground. The horse is painted with particularly expressive detail through the eye, muzzle, blaze, and musculature, giving the portrait the feel of traditional sporting art while remaining wonderfully decorative.

Signed “G. Soler” in the lower right-hand corner. The artist has not been independently identified or authenticated, so we would describe the work based solely on the visible signature rather than make a formal attribution.

The painting is presented in a substantial layered wood frame with warm mahogany-toned grain, gilt detailing, beaded trim, and classical inner ornamentation. The frame adds considerable presence and gives the piece the collected English country / hunt-club character that works beautifully in a study, library, entry, tack room, or equestrian gallery wall.

SIZE
Approximately 22"L × 19"H × 2"D overall framed.

CONDITION
Stunning vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear to the painting and frame. Minor marks, patina, and imperfections are consistent with a previously owned original work and contribute to its character.

MAKER
Signed lower right “G. Soler.”

MATERIAL
Original oil painting; wood and gilt-finished frame.

STYLING SUGGESTIONS
Hang beneath an antique brass picture light over a console or writing desk and layer with silver horse-show trophies, dark preserved boxwood, leather-bound books, and vintage ribbons for a collected English equestrian look. It would also be exceptional incorporated into a traditional sporting-art gallery wall.
