Vintage Scully & Scully Deux Amis Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Reverse Hand Painted Glass Plate

A wonderfully distinctive vintage decorative plate created exclusively for Scully & Scully by French artisan workshop Deux Amis. Crafted from substantial octagonal glass, the piece features a beautifully detailed tricolor King Charles Spaniel set against a deep emerald green field and surrounded by a wonderfully aged gilt border. The decoration is executed from the reverse of the glass, giving the image remarkable depth and a jewel-like quality when viewed from the front. An exceptionally charming piece of 1990s Scully & Scully design with all the polish and personality of classic Park Avenue interiors. 

CONDITION
Very good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear, variation and patina to the hand-applied painted and gilt decoration. The intentionally timeworn character of the gold is especially beautiful.

Originally retailed by Scully & Scully of New York. The reverse is hand-inscribed in French, “Modèle exclusif fait à la main par DEUX AMIS pour Scully & Scully,” identifying it as an exclusive handmade model created for the celebrated Park Avenue luxury retailer. Scully & Scully has specialized in fine furnishings, decorative objects and gifts since 1934.
