Vintage Sterling Silver Chicago Kennel Club c.1968 Terrier Group Trophy Bowl

A distinguished piece of American dog-show history, this vintage sterling silver trophy bowl was awarded by the International Kennel Club of Chicago for the Amateur Terrier Group in 1968. Its beautifully engraved presentation inscription gives the bowl exceptional character and connects it to one of the country’s longstanding purebred dog competitions.

Crafted in the classic Paul Revere form, the bowl features a gently flared rim, rounded body and substantial stepped pedestal base. Its petite scale makes it particularly charming displayed among dog portraits, sporting books and other collected silver—or repurposed as an elegant catchall, match holder or petite serving piece.

The underside is stamped “Paul Revere Reproduction Circa 1768,” “Newport Sterling” and pattern number 3134. Newport Sterling was a mid-20th-century trademark of the celebrated Gorham Corporation. The International Kennel Club of Chicago traces its history to the Chicago Kennel Club, established in 1900, and became known for hosting one of the Midwest’s premier all-breed dog shows.

CONDITION
Beautiful vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear, light scratching and patina consistent with a sterling silver presentation piece from 1968. The original engraving remains clearly visible. SIZE
