Vintage Takahashi Porcelain Fox Bookend Figurine

A handsome vintage porcelain fox by Takahashi, beautifully rendered in a rich russet glaze with striking cream accents and an intricate crackle finish throughout. Standing alert with wonderfully expressive ears, dark paws, and a gracefully curved tail, this charming fellow rests atop a rectangular plinth with an ivory crackle-glazed surface and deep chocolate brown border.

The beautifully detailed glazing and classic sporting subject lend this piece the character of an English country house collectible. Equally appealing as a standalone decorative accent or incorporated into a collection of fox hunting and equestrian antiques, this is a lovely addition to a well-appointed home.

The underside features a compartment that may be weighted to allow the piece to function as a bookend.
