Vintage Victorian Bouquets Silver & Glass Mirrored Vanity Powder Box

A wonderfully substantial vintage vanity box from Godinger Silver’s 1989 “Victorian Bouquets” collection, combining heavily embossed silver plate, thick faceted glass, and a concealed mirror beneath the lid. 

The weight of this piece is especially satisfying. Rather than a lightweight decorative trinket box, the lid is impressively substantial, worked in an elaborate Victorian Revival pattern of flowers, scrolling foliage, and ornate cartouches. Lift the lid to reveal a mirror mounted beneath, while the deeply faceted clear glass base catches and reflects the surrounding light beautifully.

Originally designed as a vanity powder box, today it makes an exceptionally pretty jewelry box, dressing-table accessory, bedside catchall, or decorative object. It has the romantic look of an antique silver dressing-table piece while remaining wonderfully usable.

While currently not engraved, the lid holds a space perfect for a gorgeous monogram to later be inclded.

CONDITION
Beautiful vintage presentation with age-appropriate surface wear consistent with a silver-plated piece from the late 1980s. The glass presents beautifully, and the mirrored underside of the lid adds an especially lovely detail. Please review photographs closely as they form part of the condition description.

STYLING SUGGESTIONS
Style it on a dressing table alongside antique perfume bottles, a silver hand mirror, and a small vase of garden roses; use it on a bedside table for rings and earrings; or layer it into a collected silver vignette atop old books. It would also be beautiful in a guest bath holding petite necessities or simply displayed as the decorative object it is.

The combination of silver, glass, and mirror gives this little box far more presence than its scale would suggest — exactly the sort of detail that makes a room feel collected rather than decorated.
