Vintage White & Gold Reticulated Porcelain Pedestal Compote

A wonderfully decorative vintage porcelain pedestal compote featuring a petite architectural form rendered in creamy white porcelain with rich hand-applied gilt detailing. The flared bowl is surrounded by an intricate reticulated design of repeating pointed arches and geometric openings, giving the piece a distinctly Regency- and Neoclassical-inspired character.

The pierced upper rim, scalloped silhouette and gilt-traced latticework create beautiful dimension, while the turned pedestal rises from a substantial square gilt base. Though small in scale, the form has the presence of a much larger classical centerpiece.

Perfect as a decorative object on a bar, bookshelf or cocktail table, or used as a petite serving piece for mixed nuts, candies or other small treats. It is especially striking styled among crystal, silver, leather and sporting antiques.
