Vintage Wire Fox Terrier Original Oil Painting, Signed & Framed

Charming original oil painting titled “Briar II,” signed Marna Lee and dated 1997. The portrait depicts a seated wire fox terrier rendered in soft cream, black & warm neutral tones against a loosely painted garden landscape. The dog’s alert expression, distinctive terrier silhouette & wonderfully traditional subject matter give the piece the feel of an intimate sporting portrait collected over time. Presented in a layered gilt frame with linen liner & crackled ivory outer molding, the framing adds substantial decorative presence while complementing the painting beautifully.

STYLING SUGGESTIONS
An especially good piece for a collected English country, sporting or equestrian interior. Hang it within a gallery wall of antique dog & sporting art, place it above a small chest beneath an antique brass picture light, or layer it into a library, study, mudroom or tack-room-inspired space alongside leather books, silver trophies & other sporting objects. Its smaller scale makes it particularly good for those little areas where a distinctive piece of original art can make an outsized impact.
